Props to Charles Joseph Weis

I wish to offer praise and congratulations to Charles Joseph Weis, ND Class of 1978. For the second straight week, he received a somewhat miraculous stay of execution.

For the second straight week, I needed a cardiologist on hand. For the second straight week, we squandered an early lead when we had a chance to put the game away. For the second straight week, we came roaring back to win at the end. For the first week in the last three, we weren't fucked over by Integer officiating.

My internet friends at NDNation are all up in arms, saying wins like this prove that Weis needs to go. Maybe, maybe not. I have a feeling that Weis isn't going to keep getting these stays of execution each week. But maybe, just maybe, we're witnessing a team growing up. A team learning how to handle a little adversity. A team learnding how win.

Purdue sucks. But we took their best shot. Last night was their Super Bowl. At night. And we did it without the services of two of our best players, and have of the game without the services of our best player.

Hell, I'll drink to that. Congrats, Charlie.

Now don't fucking blow it next week.
